Knights of Columbus Surge with Service Programs
Director of Surge Programs- Jim Berg, Deputy Grand Knight
Personal commitment and direct involvement by the Knights of Columbus are the aims and purposes of the "Surge with Service" program developed by the Supreme Council staff. Adoption of the program on the state and local levels makes the Knights of Columbus a Catholic, family, fraternal and service organization. The Service Program is a revision and improvement of the famous Six Point Program utilized by the Knights in former years. PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL SURGE PROGRAMS ARE OPEN TO FIRST DEGREE KNIGHTS, SO THIS IS A PRIME OPPORTUNITY TO GET INVOLVED IN THE COUNCIL
PROGRAM DIRECTOR'S REPORT AUGUST 2008
As PGK for Council 5714 I have agreed to take on the role of Program Director for the upcoming Columbian year. Our goal is to continue our efforts to remain an active and vibrate Knights of Columbus Council. The essential theme for the Surge with Service Program is service. The elements of the Surge program include church, community, council, family and youth. Each of these elements forms the basis for which our council can show our community what the Knights of Columbus is all about. The directors for each of our communities for the upcoming year are:
Program Director Joseph Badowski
Church Director Fred Linka
Community Director Larry York
Council Director Jack Acker
Family Director Mike Sprindis
Youth Director Brian Kohler
Membership Director Sam Cerasi
Each Director will be recruiting our members to assist with each of our programs. The Surge for Service Program booklet describes in more detail the services that each are entrusted to perform. I encourage each member to join one or more of these groups and to help us make the upcoming Columbian year a successful one.
The Surge meetings are held the third Tuesday of each month at 7:30 in our Council members room. Come out to our meetings and get involved with the Surge program. Call me for more information.
